antique clock
Type: This is a mantel clock, often referred to as aNapoleon Hat or Tambour clock, due to its curving case design.
Case: The wood case is curved and dark-stained, typical of early-to-mid 20th-century styles.
Movement: mechanical movement with a pendulum and chime coil. The movement is made of brass and likely includes a spring-driven mechanism, though not sure. It's not working at present.
Back Access Panel: There is a small access door on the back, secured with a latch, consistent with clocks made between 1900–1950.
Chime: The presence of the coil gong suggests it chimes on the hour (and possibly half-hour).
Based on the style and materials, this clock is likely European, possibly German or British, and made between 1920 and 1940. Some similar movements were made by companies like Junghans, Hermle, or Seth Thomas.
