These 8 wood rulers have been given a rudimentary clean, but all retain ink stains. Some have nibbles to the straight edges and one has a substantial chip, but most are still useable.
Variously marked: "Made in England for Dixon&Hempenstall, Dublin, W.H.Harliing, London. Maker."; "Engine divided, British made"; "Trueman, Ltd Dublin"; "Dixon & Hempenstall, Dubin". All seem to have been made in Britain for the Irish market.
I'm guessing these are circa 30s/40s, but they may be older. Most likely made of boxwood.
Would make a great gift for an architect, draftsman or engineer, or could be used for crafting.
Each measures approximately 12 1/2" x 1 1/4".
