1998 20p Irish Punt Coin Necklace
An Irish punt 20p coin from 1998 on a black wax cord necklace. The necklace measures roughly 42cm and fits my neck (adult male).
In 1998,
• Ireland enters the European monetary union paving the way for the introduction of the euro in 2002.
• The Good Friday agreement is signed and endorsed by referenda both sides of the border.
•TV3 is launched. (Know now as virgin media after a few buyouts)
•The punt ceases trading on FX markets. It now has to be traded through Euro to other major currencies.
This coin saw all that history. Wear it round your neck.
