Pair of Antique English Country Oak Chairs – estimated c.1800–1830

Charming pair of early 19th-century English country oak dining/side chairs, estimated circa 1800–1830.

Simple Georgian country design with shaped solid-board seats, square legs and stretchers, and attractive open backs with slender vertical splats. The chairs have a particularly nice aged colour and patina, with plenty of character from many years of use.

Both retain their loose seat cushions, which can simply be removed to show the attractive original-style timber seats beneath.

There are age-related marks, wear and old repairs/variations as would be expected from chairs of this period. Very decorative as kitchen, hall, bedroom or occasional chairs.
