Mid century modern leather chair

Title: Rare 1965 MCM MOD R. Foster & Son chairs.

Reason for sale: Beautiful chair in fantastic condition, just doesn’t fit in our small box room office. Open to reasonable offers.

Originally made for UK MOD / government contract use.
Chairs still retain their original government labels underneath. The labels show
R. Foster & Son, NSN / NATO Stock Number 7105-99-120-3757, contract/code 01-22-205, British Broad Arrow government property mark and a date stamp reading 12 November 1965.

The chairs are very heavy, solid and well-built, with original black leather vinyl seats and backrests and warm teak-toned hardwood frames. The wood appears to be a heavy African teak / iroko type hardwood, with rich grain and colour.
Clean MCM design with simple lines, strong proportions and floating-style backrests. Suitable as dining chairs, office chairs, studio chairs, café chairs, waiting-room chairs or statement seating.
