CLEARANCE: PAIR of French Louis XVI style giltwood petite boudoir or slipper chairs circa late 19thC.
🪙 FINAL CLEARANCE ‼️
•PAIR of charming French Louis XVI style giltwood petite boudoir or slipper chairs circa late 19thC. (guessing about 1880-1885 because of the wide bustle seats and casters).
•Boasting original frames and structural stability, these chairs will add a regal touch to any space.
•Re-upholstered in a luxurious silk fabric in a neutral ivory shade with gold rope twist and button tufting.
•Small in stature, and elegant in design, this style of upholstered chair with short legs was designed for 18th century women’s dressing rooms out of necessity. Restrictive layers of clothing, tight corsets and wide petticoats often meant that ladies required assistance with putting on their shoes, so a low and unencumbered seat made the perfect place to perch for this purpose.
📌 Condition: In very good condition. These antique pieces have no defects, but they may show slight traces of use.
•Dimensions:
