For sale is an antique piece of CRESTED CHINA in the form of a swan and displaying a combined crest with the name of WHITEHAVEL town in Cumbria.
The crest is three arms shields within a shield that reflects the town industrial heritage. As a port town, shipping was important as was the coal mining industry back then. The shield with six ringlets is the municipal coat-of-arms of Whitehaven town. There is also an image of a line of colliery railway wagons.
This is a good sized piece of crested china and has a maker's imprint on the base.
