Rare 'Poterat' gravy boat with attached underplate.
Made at the factory of Wedgwood & Sons Ltd., Etruria, 1922
This beautiful Wedgwood gravy boat is of the unusual and very stylish Poterat pattern which uses enamels in imitation of French faience design. They were built for export to France as evidenced by the backstamp "importe d'anglaterre","imported from England".
The plate is marked on the back with the impressed "Wedgwood" name, hand-numbered and various other impressed and underglaze-stamped marks.
