Vintage Very Large and Heavy Japanese or Chinese Pottery Teapot with Wrapped Bamboo Handle, Damage to Spout but Pours Fine!

My Covid Clearout continues again this weekend and I have again moved onto my Teapot collection........

For sale here is a Vintage Very Large and Heavy Japanese or Chinese Pottery Teapot with Wrapped Bamboo Handle

This is a whopper of a pot and actually holds 3.5 pints/ 2 litres - that's an awful lot of tea!!!!

The glaze is an off-white/grey colour with a crackle glaze effect and a lovely free-form stylised pattern of foliage and berries in brown, indigo blue and bright red, very Japanese in style, which is accentuated by the Wrapped Bamboo handle. There are no markings on the base.

This teapot stands about 6.5 inches/16.5 cm tall to the lid and 9.5 inches/ 24cm to the top of the handle.

The teapot is in good vintage used condition apart from the unfortunate damage to the spout as photographed. This doesn't affect the pouring however. Apart from that it is in great vintage condition throughout. It is crazed all over, but this is a design element. The damage to the spout has been taken into account when pricing the pot.

Perfect for any collector of Japanese/Chinese ware, especially one who needs to serve tea to a lot of people!!!
