Vintage Mid Century Modern Broadhurst Kathie Winkle Designed Teaset in the Sombrero Pattern

This is a beautiful example of the fantastic design work of Kathie Winkle, famous for her 50's and 60's designs for the Broadhurst Pottery Company. She was responsible for all their patterns from the late 50's to the mid 70's and designed over 100 patterns.
The Sombrero pattern dates from closer to the end of her period and features a repeating geometric floral and abstract pattern transfer printed in black with hand painted detailing.

Very Vintage Retro and Mid Century Modern.

This set is a marriage of a few different complimentary pieces, to make up a set of six trios.
All six cups are Kathie Winkle Sombrero.
Five of the six saucers are Kathie Winkle Sombrero.
Three of the six side plates are Kathie Winkle Sombrero.
The other three side plates and one saucer are all Tams ware, plain olive green which compliment the pattern of the Kathie Winkle pieces perfectly.

All the pieces are in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks but some age related crazing on some pieces.

A lovely addition to a Kathie Winkle collection or a great stater set for a new collector. Kathie Winkle designs are very popular to collect and the Sombrero pattern doesn't come up very often and when it does it commands a premium.
