For sale is a finely made hand-painted figurine by Royal Doulton, titled THE DRUMMER BOY and carries their catalogue number HN 2679. The Drummer Boy was designed by Mary Nicoll (1922-1974) and issued by Royal Doulton from 1976 to 1981, a relatively short period of time for their figurines. Mary was employed by the pottery from 1954 and was one of their most prolific designers with many of her later designs going into production after her untimely death in 1974.

HN numbers were assigned to each figurine produced by Royal Doulton, with HN 1 being issued in 1912. The initials HN stand for Harry Nixon, who was their chief artist at the time. All Royal Doulton figurines were produced by the slip-casting method and hand-painted.

There is no damage of any kind on this figurine, as I can see.
