Reduced: Beautiful and Unusual Small Ceramic Fruit Bowl by Castle Arch Pottery, Kilkenny
Reduced from €24 to €18- Need to make space!
This is a beautiful example of Castle Arch Pottery, Kilkenny, which I purchased a number of years ago when visiting the Marble City.
This small fruit bowl/display bowl is in a fabulous glaze which ranges through greens and browns and even has some flashes of purple! The relief patterning is very celtic in style and comes from their "Traditional" range.
A little bit about this pottery:
"Under the gaze of Kilkenny Castle are a collection of coach houses, stables and out buildings that make up The Castle Yard. We are located in one of these beautiful preserved buildings. The stables had been the home to the Kilkenny Design Workshops which helped to create best practice in craft and design.
We stand on the shoulders of Kilkenny Design Workshops and are constantly inspired by their design aesthetic.
Our pottery reflects Ireland's rich tradition of storytelling. Those moments that are handed down around the fireplace. Pottery has always played its part by enriching the experience of family meals or a pot of tea shared with a good friend.
We make contemporary heirlooms that last a lifetime of get togethers and our hope is that you pass these on so they become part of your story."
The bowl is in very good condition with no chips or cracks, and still has it's Castle Arch Label. It is a small fruit bowl, and holds 7 funsized apples, as photographed!
It measures 11 inches/ 28 cm in diameter including the handles, and 9 inches/ 23 cm without. It stands roughly 2.5 inches/ 6.5 cm tall.
Trying to downsize some of my Irish Pottery collections, hence the sale.
