Rare Walter Moorcroft. Orchid Octagonal Footed Bowl. c.1950
An exceptional vintage Moorcroft Pottery footed bowl in the celebrated Orchid pattern, produced during the Walter Moorcroft period (circa late 1940s–early 1950s).
This is the scarcer octagonal form, beautifully tube-lined and hand-decorated with vibrant orchid blooms against a rich green ground, finished with the classic deep cobalt blue glaze to the underside.
The base bears the hand-painted W.M. monogram, impressed Moorcroft Made in England factory mark and the historic “Potter to H.M. The Queen” Royal Warrant backstamp.

Condition
The bowl displays beautifully with vibrant colours and crisp tube-lining.
Please note there is a stable hairline crack running from the rim through one section of the bowl. This has been fully reflected in the asking price and is clearly shown in the photographs. Aside from this, it presents extremely well as a cabinet or display piece.
An increasingly collectible example of classic English art pottery and a wonderful opportunity to acquire a scarce Moorcroft form at a fraction of the price of a perfect example.
