Mid-Victorian Dudson Relief-Molded Stoneware Jug
Exceptional piece of 19th-century ceramic history. This antique mid-Victorian relief-molded jug features an incredibly crisp, deep-relief botanical motif (depicting Orange Blossom or Camellia branches) set against a beautifully uniform, stippled "orange-peel" textured background.
True to its mid-1800s Staffordshire utility origin, this piece features a gorgeous, unglazed matte cream exterior (smear-glazed/bisque finish) contrasted by a fully glossy, glazed interior.
Measures 20cm high. See pictures for condition.
