Lovely Vintage and Rare Small Sugar Bowl by Sterling Pottery, Fenton, Stoke on Trent, Circa 1949-1953 in the Raised Acanthus Leaf Pattern
Clearing the clutter, and I have a few odd items with no place in my collections any longer, so letting them go!!
For sale here is a Lovely Vintage and Rare Small Sugar Bowl by Sterling Pottery, Fenton, Stoke on Trent, Circa 1949-1953 in the “Raised Acanthus Leaf” Pattern.
Quite small as a sugar bowl, this has been used in my house as catch-all for random buttons, coins, safety pins etc!!
Perfect also for holding your smallest most precious treasure – jewellery, keys, tooth fairy coins/teeth!!!
It could also be used to store daily beauty capsules in the bathroom.
This lovely little bowl is made by the quite unknown pottery firm Sterling Pottery, Fenton, which only existed between the year 1939 to 1953. The backstamp dates this to the last five years of production. There appears to only be a few examples of sugar bowls, lidded bowls and milk creamers in this lovely acanthus leaf pattern online, so quite a rare item it seems.
This piece, good vintage condition with no chips or large cracks, although there is some crazing and two hairline cracks, as photographed. It stands just over 2 inches/5.5cm tall and is 3.5 inches/ 9 cm wide at the widest point. The condition and the rarity have both been taken into account when pricing this.
Other examples online start at €25 ex shipping and customs charges.
I will have other vintage kitsch and odd items available shortly, see the last photo for the other items coming soon!
