Lovely Rustic Hand-Potted Mug in a Light Grey Earthenware with a Navy Blue Decoration, Similar to the Early Nicholas Mosse, but No Backstamps to Identify the Potter!

I am continuing my effort to downsize, it seems to be never-ending! But I have to clear a cabinet of random items, so here is the start of it!

Available here is a Lovely Hand-Potted Mug in a Light Grey Earthenware with a Navy Blue Decoration, Similar to the Early Nicholas Mosse, but No Backstamps to Identify the Potter!

Here is a lovely simple rustic mug, in light grey with a simple navy blue motif decoration front and back and a stripe on the handle. It is hand potted as you can see the concentric spiral on the underside and inside.

It’s similar in style and decoration to the early Nicholas Mosse pots, and I have seen a similar piece sold as such, but frustratingly, there is no discernible backstamp or impressions to be able to confirm or identify the potter.

The mug is in very good vintage condition with no cracks or crazing but there are a couple of spots on the rim where the glaze is missing, probably from the time of manufacture.

The mug stands just under 3.25 inches/ 8 cm tall and is 3.5 inches/9 cm in diameter at the top rim.
