Lovely Newish Version of the Brown Betty Style Teapot, Hexagonal in Shape, Un-Marked on the Base, Holds One Litre/ 1.75 Pints

Following a house move I'm forced into evaluating all the contents of my home and some items will have to go, in my effort to downsize. I'm making progress but more items need to go! I have so many teapots and I cannot keep them all. I have a large collection of Brown Betty Utility Teapots in various sizes, and I’m only keeping a few, so will be listing a number shortly

This is a very nice Modern Teapot in the Brown Betty style with a lovely brown/caramel glaze with a lighter brown honeycomb glaze affect at the shoulder. It’s in a stylish Hexagonal shape.

The teapot is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or other damage the smallest nibble to the spout photographed. It doesn’t affect the pouring of the tea, and is mentioned for the sake of accuracy.
It holds 1 litre or 1.75 pints of tea. A family pot!!

The Brown Betty teapots were less expensive at the time, than porcelain or china teapots, but they became very popular due to the fact that you can brew a superior pot of tea in them!! The red clay that was used to make them holds the heat longer and the shape of the pot allows the tea to swirl round for a better taste. They are also good pourers. The Brown Betty teapots are glazed in “Rockingham Brown Glaze”, which is another name for manganese brown glaze used.

Perfect for when brewing tea for the whole family! Perfect for use with teabags as this example doesn’t have straining holes.

Perfect for a country kitchen dresser display, or as part of a display in a tearooms or café.
