KLM miniature house from Delft Blue
KLM Ceramic Miniature House No. 17, an iconic collectible given to business class passengers of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Each miniature in this series replicates an authentic, historic building in the Netherlands – in this case, the 17th-century orphanage in Gouda at Spieringstraat 1-3.
These houses are typically filled with traditional Dutch juniper gin (jenever) supplied by the Bols Amsterdam 1575 distillery.
However, the "Empty due to Customs regulations on this route" sticker visible in the photo indicates that this particular unit was distributed on a route subject to strict customs restrictions on the transport of alcohol (e.g., on selected routes to the Middle East or certain Asian countries). To ensure passengers on these routes were not deprived of their gift, KLM provided factory-empty units.
