Fabulous vintage Staffordshire fish glug jug in a beautiful rich olive green glaze.

A wonderfully characterful piece of vintage English pottery, modelled as a stylised fish with beautifully moulded scales, fins and expressive features. The curled tail forms the handle, while the open fish mouth forms the spout.

Often known as a glug jug or gurgling fish jug, this classic design is named for the distinctive “glugging” or gurgling sound traditionally produced when liquid is poured.

The glossy olive green glaze is particularly attractive, pooling slightly around the moulded details and giving the piece wonderful depth and character.
