A plate commemorating the dedication of The Grange Building in Washington D.C. in June 1960 by President Dwight D Eisenhower.
The National Grange is still in operation, still at this location, and just celebrated their 150 year anniversary!
From the front of the plate - "The Grange Building Dedicated by President Dwight D. Eisenhower June 29, 1960"
From the back of the plate - "The National Grange Patrons of Husbandry 1616 H Street, NW Washington, D.C. Organized December 4, 1867 by" and a list of names follows. See pic #4. Also listed on the back is the original artist and where it was fired in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. In the center is the crest/logo still in use today.
The plate is 7 1/2 inches and is in amazing condition. There are no chips, cracks, or fleabites of any kind.
The plate is a lovely example of mid century design. It is a rare commemorative plate
