Gorgeous Vintage MCM Part Dinner Service by Midwinter Stylecraft, "Fashion" Shape, "Carmen" Pattern, Circa 1961, Designed by John Russell

A possible impending house move has forced me into evaluating all the contents of my attic and home and some items will have to go, in my effort to downsize. I'm making progress but more items need to go! I am moving onto some of my surplus dinnerware now and here is a small selection of Midwinter Stylecraft Dinner Service items for sale as a set.

For sale here is a Gorgeous Vintage MCM Part Dinner Service by Midwinter Stylecraft, “Fashion” Shape, “Carmen” Pattern, Circa 1961

The Iconic Midwinter Stylecraft Fashion Shape was first produced in 1954 and was made until the end of the 1960's.
The shape is very Mid Century Modern, with its sleek lines and angular and asymmetric shapes.
The Fashion shape was made in around 120 different patterns, which is amazing. This one is called Carmen, which is a lovely bright graphic design in red white and black with the stunning red rose design.
Very MCM, it was designed circa 1960 by John Russell. From the backstamps I can date the production of these pieces to 1961 and 1962.

Included for sale here as a set are the following pieces:
Serving Platter (12” by 10”)
Lidded Vegetable Serving Dish/Tureen (see dimensions in photos)
Four Dinner Plates (9.5”/24cm diameter)

All items are in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks and only minor wear and tear as described here now:
Platter: excellent condition, no issues.
Dinner plates: some minor knife marks, some minor wear to the floral motif, the red on one plate is a slightly darker shade than the others, but no chips cracks or crazing.
Lidded Serving Dish/Tureen: No issues apart from some clean crazing to the lid, and some slight discolouration to the interior base as photographed.

Selling as a collection of all six items together. Sold individually, they would work out more expensive!

A perfect little set for the collector of Midwinter Stylecraft Fashion Shaped Dinnerware! Perfect for use or display in a mid-century modern themed kitchen but would also work very well in a contemporary setting.
