Fabulously stylish mid-century decorative Japanese ceramic.
Very striking large (~12 inch) 1960s Japanese stoneware charger. Hand-thrown studio pottery ceramic platter or charger crafted from speckled stoneware clay with a textured, brushed slip design and subtle green and yellow dot accents. Decorated with horizontal brushed white slip bands and incised linear motifs punctuated by small green and yellow pigment dots. Typical of the Japanese style also adopted by British ceramic artists of the 1960s such as Bernard Leach.
