Fabulous Vintage Retro Set of Six Matching Red Sundae Glasses with a Relief Pattern Very Similar to the Very Popular Iittala Marimekko Maribowl Glasses in Cranberry - Perfect for Halloween

I am continuing my effort to downsize, it seems to be never-ending! I have some more glassware and barware that will have to go, as I am putting my collections in storage and not everything will fit! This lovely set is next to go.

For sale here is a Fabulous Vintage Retro Set of Six Matching Red Sundae Glasses with a Relief Pattern Very Similar to the Very Popular Iittala Marimekko Maribowl Glasses in Cranberry - Perfect for Halloween

These are fab, a real find and perfect for Halloween as part of a display, to use with votive candles, or for drinks.

They are very similar to the larger Very Popular Iittala Marimekko Maribowl Glasses, which are a Finnish institution and highly collectable. These are a slightly smaller size (and a more practical size, imho, as I have both in my collection) than the standard Maribowl glasses, and although the Maribowls also came in this smaller size too, I don’t think these ones are originals.

A bit about the originals that inspired these vintage copies: “A modern interpretation of an ornate goblet, the Maribowl is the result of a 1960's collaboration between iittala and Marimekko. It wasn't until Marimekko founder Armi Ratia used them in her garden parties, however, that they gained their immense popularity. Now, the Finnish-made objects are a favorite among fanatics to present candies, serve post-dinner parfaits or simply display as art. They come in a myriad of colours. The juicy cranberry red is glamorous, but surprisingly versatile; it is an obvious start to a new collection or an exciting addition to a growing one.”

They are pressed glass in a beautiful bright shade of Blood Red glass, which accentuates the relief patterning on the pieces. The colour was hard to photograph, so I photographed them both with a dark and a white background.

The glasses are in very good vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks in the glass. There is some minor spotting to the colour on one or two, as photographed.

They stand 4.75 inches/ 12 cm tall and are 4 inches/ 10 cm in diameter at the rim.

A great price for the six. If they were the original Marimekko glasses, expect to only get one glass for the price of these six!

Would look fab on display in a home bar or man cave, and also perfect for al fresco dining and summer cocktails, when camping or caravanning!

Especially suited for the Halloween season, due to the colour!

I also have a set of four Universal Glasses available, although not a matching pattern to this set, they are a similar colour and the two sets would complement one another as part of a display of red glass. See the last few photos.
