Fabulous Vintage Retro 1970s Set of Six Tea/Coffee Duos by Denby in the Rustic Cotswold Pattern

I am continuing my effort to downsize as unfortunately we will have to move all our belongings into temporary storage due to builders carrying out major remediation works to our brand new home.
I’m trying to minimize the pain by reducing the amount of packing required to be done!

For Sale Here is A Fabulous Vintage Retro 1970s Set of Six Tea/Coffee Duos by Denby in the Rustic Cotswold Pattern

What a lovely set this is, decorated with a stylish tactile textured chocolate brown pattern on the outside of the cups, contrasting with the plain brown saucers, and plain white interiors on the cups. Although from the 1970’s this set would be most at home in a contemporary setting with it’s simple design shape and clean lines, with the pattern adding a retro vibe.

Denby Cotswold, part of the rustic Country Fayre Collection was issued in 1973. It is actually the second Denby Pottery pattern to be named Cotswold, but the earlier version was quite different. In the 1973 version, the plates (which I don’t have) feature freely painted leaves in brown and gold, with a brown rim, but it is the textured exterior to the cups, and other serving pieces that captured customers imagination and made it stand out in a crowd of brown and gold 70’s designs.

Because they are Denby, they have a lovely weight to them and are in excellent condition which belies the fact that they are over 50 years old! Also because they are Denby, they are very durable, have held their value and are collectable, as you will see from a few online ads that I have screenshot.

The set includes the following pieces:

6 Tea or Coffee Cups
6 Matching Saucers.

The set is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or pattern loss, as good as the day they were made, over 50 years ago!

A great set for a retro coffee morning. It would look great on display in a modern funky kitchen or amongst retro chic items in a coffee shop or tea rooms.

I’ve never had the matching tea or coffee pots or milk jug/sugar bowl.
