Fabulous Vintage Rare Patterned Royal Stafford Bone China Hand-Painted and Hand-Gilded Trio in a Stunning Pink Hibiscus Pattern, Pattern number 8239, Mint/Cabinet Condition
I am continuing my effort to downsize, and I have a few more teasets left to list! I purchased this set for my Teacup candles but I couldn’t bring myself to use them as they are too special and unusual. I have used some trios but I can't now keep all my teasets, as I have too many!
For sale here is a Fabulous Vintage Rare Patterned Royal Stafford Bone China Hand-Painted and Hand-Gilded Trio in a Stunning Pink Hibiscus Pattern, Pattern number 8239, Mint/Cabinet Condition
Royal Stafford were China manufacturers at the Cobden Works, Longton from 1952 onwards. Previous to 1952, it was under the name of Thomas Poole (Longton) Ltd, but the Royal Stafford name was introduced between 1900 and 1907. They produced quality china, suitable for Home and Foreign Markets, and specialised in Tea and Breakfast Sets.
This pattern was introduced in the 1950’s I think, by reference to the backstamp, but I cannot find another example of this pattern online, so it seems to be very rare indeed.
It’s a stunning pattern with large pink hibiscus blooms.
At a first glance, you might think the design was transfer printed, but if you look closely, you will notice that although the outlines are printed, all the colours are hand-painted and there are subtle variations in the design for this reason. Pink Hibiscus is often seen as a symbol of femininity and beauty, signifying the nurturing nature of women.
For sale here, is one Trio, consisting of a cup, saucer and side plate.
Price is for one trio, but I do have a number of matching trios available. I also have a large cake display plate available, see the last few photos to see all that I have left of this stunning set.
All three pieces are in excellent mint antique condition with no chips, cracks or crazing, no pattern loss and very little gilt loss, especially given these are about 70 years old.
Perfect for the collector of Fine Bone China, especially someone who specialises in unusual floral patterns or someone who likes to collect individual trios due to space issues!
Would be lovely for use for a special afternoon tea or coffee morning, with a mix and match Floral theme. Would also be fabulous on display in a china cabinet, among other fine china trios.
