Fabulous Vintage Mid Century Brown 29 Piece Dinner Service With Hand-Painted Multicoloured Elements by Johnson Bros in the Popular and Collectable The Old Mill Pattern, Circa 1952-77

I am continuing my effort to downsize as unfortunately we will have to move all our belongings into temporary storage due to builders carrying out major remediation works to our brand new home.
I’m trying to minimize the pain by reducing the amount of packing required to be done!

This dinner service is now surplus to my current requirements, as since the house move I decided to use more mid-century style dinnerware in keeping with the rest of my décor. It was bought not long before the move, so hasn’t actually had much use at all.

For sale here is a Fabulous Vintage Mid Century Brown and White Transferware 29 Piece Dinner Service With Hand-Painted Multicoloured Elements by Johnson Bros in the Popular and Collectable “The Old Mill” Pattern, Circa 1952-77

Suitable for daily or special occasion use, wall hanging, or kitchen dresser display. I will have some matching extra plates available, if you need more than six place settings.

Included in this Dinner Service set are the following 29 items:

Six Large 10 inch Dinner Plates
Six 9 inch Breakfast Plates
Six 8 inch Salad/Luncheon Plates
Six 9 Inch Rimmed Soup Bowls (suitable for pasta also)
Three Graduated Oval Serving Platters, Small, Medium and Large
One Lidded Vegetable Serving Dish/Tureen
One Gravy Boat.

All are in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or pattern loss apart from the following minor exceptions:
A slight stable hairline crack in the edge of one platter as photographed, a couple of brown marks on the edge of one platter at photographed, a small chip on the foot of the gravy boat as photographed.

This popular pattern features rural scenes of an old water mill from times gone by. The transfer is in a rust brown, with hand-painted elements in blues, reds oranges and greens on each piece, making each piece individual.

This mid-century pattern was only produced by Johnson Brothers between 1952 and 1977, and these are from the earlier end of the timeframe.

This pattern is highly collectable and commands a very high price online, see the last few photos.
Selling for a very reasonable price for such a large and complete set.
