Fabulous Vintage Mid Century Art Deco Vase/Jug/Pitcher with a Beautiful Hand Painted Floral Design and Black Angular Handle and Stepped Foot, Caroline Ware Circa 1950

I am still listing some items after our recent house move and down-sizing attempts.

I’ve quite a few eclectic items of décor which I am not currently displaying, due to colour scheme changes, space issue etc. They still bring me joy, and I probably would use them in future again, but something needs to go!!!

For Sale here is a Fabulous Vintage Mid Century Art Deco Vase/Jug/Pitcher with a Beautiful Hand Painted Floral Design and Black Angular Handle and Stepped Foot, Caroline Ware Circa 1950

This is a great vintage ceramic hand painted jug with a fabulous bold multicoloured floral design that is all hand painted. The jug is a fabulous Art deco inspired shape, and the angled handle, and stepped foot which are painted in black, also scream Art Deco inspired. The background glaze is cream, and the piece has all-over fine age related crazing and some stable hairlines, which all add to the authenticity of this at least 85 year old piece!

A real statement piece of Art Deco/1950's style.

The Jug or Pitcher is stamped 'Caroline Ware, Made in England' with numbers 104 B and Handcraft. Caroline Ware was produced by the Caroline Pottery Ltd, Longton. Staffordshire, England c 1946-53. The number will be for the pattern shape and/or the painted design.

The Jug/Pitcher is in very good vintage condition, part from the forementioned age related crazing/hairlines. The hand-painted floral decoration is bright and vibrant and the hand-painted black handle and foot are still in great condition with no colour loss.
It measures approximately 7 inches/17cm tall, and 6.5 inches/16cm across the widest point.

Caroline Ware items are quite rare as they were produced for only a short time period. They don’t come up online very often, and this style seems to be rare, as I cannot find any other examples only one in a different shape, see the last photo.
