Fabulous Set of Four Vintage Retro Mid-Century-Modern Tumblers with Gilt Banding and a Lovely Unusual Shape, Unknown Maker but Likely from Bohemia or Czechoslovakia

I am almost at the end of my effort to downsize following the house move, not many items left to list! But I have to clear half a cabinet of glassware, so I have some sets of glasses coming up.

For sale here is a Fabulous Set of Four Vintage Retro Mid-Century-Modern Tumblers with Gilt Banding and a Lovely Unusual Shape, Unknown Maker but Likely from Bohemia or Czechoslovakia

These large tumblers are such a lovely and unusual shape with very neat fine gilt banding.
The glass is a pale amber in colour and the bottom bulbous section of the glasses are frosted, with a wide gilt band on either side of the frosted section. The top sections gracefully flute outwards with narrow concentric rings of gilt

There are no markings, stamps or stickers on the base to identify the maker, but suspect they are from Europe, possibly Bohemia or Czechoslovakia and date to the mid-century.

All four glasses are in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks, and no ware to the gilt, so I imagine these glasses have been cabinet pieces mostly, with very little use. They stand 4.75 inches/ 12cm tall and are about 3.5 inches/9 cm at the widest point at the top, and about 2.5 inches/ 6.5cm at the base.

So very Mad Men, the epitome of Mid-Century Modern flair, these would be an ideal addition to any MCM/Retro loving home cocktail bar.
