Fabulous Rare Vintage Masons Ironstone Large Lidded Soup Tureen Complete with Matching Underplate and Ladle in the Regency Pattern, Circa 1940 - Amazing to Have the Complete Set!

I am continuing my effort to downsize, as I unfortunately have to replace the engine in the family car! I'm making progress but more items need to go!
This is a particularly reluctant sale, but I can only keep pieces of Mason’s Regency that I regularly use. I have been afraid to use this, as it is in such excellent mint condition, I haven’t risked it being damaged.

A Truly Stunning and Rare Collection of Pieces of Masons Pottery in their popular and collectable "Regency" pattern.

This is a lovely fresh floral pattern and less fussy than some of the Masons patterns. The transfer print is a bright blue with blue, yellow, green and red hand painted elements. This pattern was also sold under the name ‘Plantation Colonial’ for the US and Canadian markets.

Mason’s were a family of potters trading from circa 1800 to circa 1854, where they were taken over by Messrs. G L Ashworth & Bros in 1861 (they continued to use the Mason’s printed marks and also their molds and patterns). It became part of the Wedgwood group in 1978 and continued until production ceased in 1997.
Charles James Mason patented Ironstone in 1813, making the company a fortune. Ironstone was developed as a cheaper, mass-produced and more durable alternative to porcelain.

For sale here is a Fabulous and Rare Vintage Masons Ironstone Large Lidded Soup Tureen, Complete with Matching Underplate and Ladle in the Regency Pattern, Circa 1940 in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or pattern loss. There may be some very minor age-related crazing present, this collection of four pieces are pretty much in mint condition.

The Tureen measures 14 inches/ 35 cm long by 8.5 inches/ 22 wide and stands roughly 9.5 inches/24 cm tall, including the lid, and 6.25 inches/ 16cm not including the lid.
The Lid is 6.5 inches/ 16.5cm wide by 8.75 inches/ 22cm long. and the ladle is 10 inches long x 3 1/4 inches wide across the bowl.
The Underplate measures 14 inches/36 cm by 10 inches/25.5cm.
The Soup Ladle measures 10 inches/26cm long and 3.25 inches/8cm wide across the bowl.

The back stamp reads MASON’S PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA “Regency” ENGLAND, with a crown and banner and the registered number: C 4475 821349 and “Guaranteed Detergent Proof & Acid Resisting Colours”. The backstamps are a bit of a minefield, but according to my research the backstamp dates the piece to post 1940 and pre 1950.

This would make the most Wonderful Christmas present for a collector of Regency or Christmas/Birthday combined!

This is a truly stunning set, as it is very unusual to find the full four pieces together, with nothing missing or damaged. They only tend to come up online with Antique Dealers and Stores, due to the rarity and value. The ones available on the likes of Etsy or Ebay tend to be incomplete, or with damage.

Replacements.com do have a full set currently available for €799.00 plus shipping and customs, (see the final photo) so this one is very competitively priced.

Because of the value of this set, I would prefer not to post this, and would hope it would be collected. I can discuss arrangements to see if delivery can be personally arranged depending on the location, but I do not use couriers. It is also a heavy piece, weighing 3 kilos.
