Fabulous Collectable Vintage Hand-Painted 3-D Cat and Frog Mug by Bergschrund, Seattle, USA, from 1991, Display Only Due to Hairline Crack

I am continuing my effort to downsize, it seems to be never-ending! But I have to clear a cabinet of random items, so here is the start of it!

Available here is a Fabulous Collectable Vintage Hand-Painted 3-D Cat and Frog Mug by Bergschrund, Seattle, USA, from 1991, Display Only Due to Hairline Crack

On offer here is an adorable hand-painted Bergschrund Seattle mug, with a cat handle and frog accent. The Teal coloured mug features a tuxedo cat as the handle of the mug. This cat is peering into the mug, where a little green frog is sitting on its lily pad. The backstamp of the mug reads as follows: Bergschrund, Seattle 1991, Sri Lanka.

The Bergschrund Company, in Seattle specialised in Hand-Painted Brightly Coloured 3-D Animal themed mugs, where often the animal or part of the animal forms the handle of the mug. In this case there are two animals, one being the cat which forms the handle, and the other being a cute little frog on the inside, so only visible when the mug is not full of tea!

They are highly collectable and garner high prices when sold online. (see the last few photos for online examples of this mug for sale)

A cool mug, from circa 1991, so officially vintage!

Unfortunately this mug is being sold for display purposes only, as it has a hairline crack inside and out as photographed, so I would not be comfortable putting liquid in it. There are a couple of slight fleabites also as photographed. This has all been taken into account when pricing, but given the rarity of these mugs this side of the Atlantic, it’s too good just to bin.

It is a normal sized mug.
