Fabulous 1930/30's Myott, Staffordshire, Large Platter in a Pretty Floral Pattern, Very Shabby Chic!
My Covid Clearout continues again this weekend and now I have some extra dinnerware for sale....
For sale here is a fabulous 1930/30's Myott, Staffordshire, Large Platter in a pretty floral pattern, very shabby chic!
Myott (Myott Son & Co Ltd) was set up in 1898 and operated from Stoke and then Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshirel. The company operated until 1976 when it merged with Alfred Meakin, forming Myott-Meakin Ltd.
The backstamps on this platter dates to 1930 to 1945 so this platter has quite some age.
The pattern is country floral, shabby chic, with four floral garlands at the four "corners" of the platter and smaller posies of flowers in between. The edge of the platter is slightly scalloped with a lovely relief pattern, popular in the 1930's.
The platter is in very good vintage condition considering it's roughly 80/90 years old, with no chips, cracks, or pattern loss.
The platter measures just over 14 inches/ 36 cm by 11 inches/28 cm.
Perfect for everyday or special occasion use, and would be fabulous on display also, especially on a country style dresser.
