For sale is an antique porcelain crested china vase showing an old-style coat-of-arms (1760) of Dunagnnon town, Northern Ireland. Crested china pieces were originally sold as souvenirs in local shops and were very popular with visitors and tourists from the latter part of the 19th century into the 1920s. This piece carries the backstamp of the Milton Pottery company (1873 - 1917).

DESCRIPTION:
Size: about 2 1/4" (58mm) height.
Material(s): 'eggshell' porcelain with a clear vitreous glaze.
Finish: black outline transfer print & hand-tinted with enamel colours. Painted gilt band around lip rim.
Imprint: THE MILTON CHINA TRADE MARK - MILTON ENGLISH MANUFACTURE No1 and showing an image of John Milton, the English 17th century poet.
Approximate age: 1880s to c.1917.
CONDITION:
Very good condition. Minor scuff marks in the glaze surface to left and right of crest - hence low cost.
