Gold Phoenix by Portmeirion.
Designed by John Cuffley, Susan Williams-Ellis’ assistant, an attractive design introduced in 1968 at the height of mid century elegance.
Originally a coffee jug in excellent vintage condition no chips or cracks or damage to gold gilding - a beautiful and quite rare find. Lid is missing but this looks stunning as a display item or as a tall vase.

Gold Phoenix is an example of abstract decorations printed in gold, platinum and copper luster, mostly on a black background. The original designs were made by cutting out colored foils and sticking them onto black or white paper.
