Classic Sylvac shell pottery mantle vase (mold number 399)
A vintage mantle vase in the shape of a shell, produced by the renowned British ceramics manufacturer Sylvac.
This iconic model, number 399, originally debuted during the Art Deco period and was produced around the mid-20th century (1950s and 1960s). The vase is distinguished by its organic, deeply grooved form inspired by marine life and its distinctive, glossy drip glaze (agate glaze) in shades of deep turquoise, ocean green, and black. Its elongated and stable structure made it ideal for displaying flowers on narrow shelves and mantelpieces.
The vase is in excellent condition.
