I am continuing my effort to downsize, it seems to be never-ending! But I have to clear a cabinet of random items, so here is the start of it!

For sale here is a Beautiful Thomas Diem Ceramics Handcrafted Pottery Shallow Dish from the Collectable but Discontinued Torc Range, in Fabulous Shades of Turquoise and Blue

Thomas Diem is a second generation designer and potter. Born in NYC but living in Ireland since he was a child, his first taste of pottery came in his own father’s studio. Having completed the DCCOI Pottery Skills Course and spent time perfecting his craft, Thomas established his own studio in 1997: "At Diem pottery we believe that the objects we use have a great effect on our lives. We design and create by hand, pieces that combine traditional skills with a contemporary design edge. Our aim is to enhance people’s daily lives by creating functional yet beautiful things."

This shallow dish or bowl is in very good vintage condition and still has the label on it, plus the DIEM incised mark underneath.
Unfortunately, there is some staining (possibly rust) near the centre of the piece where something else must have been sitting on top for some time. But as it is in a similar concentric shape to the decoration at the centre, it doesn’t look too bad. They could probably be removed with the right equipment, but I haven’t tried.

The pieces from this Torc collection have since been discontinued, and so are highly collectable and harder to source. The dish is in beautiful bright shades of turquoise and blue with three coins sized discs on the rim in which are unglazed and have spiral indentations.

It measures roughly 9 inches/ 22.5 cm in diameter. It stands 1.75 inches/ 4.5 cm tall.

I have a second item available from the Thomas Diem Torc Range, see the last couple of photos, and this will be listed shortly.
