Beautiful Set of Two Vintage Graduated Platters by Arklow Pottery
This is a beautiful pair of Arklow Platters in an un-named or numbered pattern (perhaps someone on here will know the pattern name or number??)
The pattern features repeating multicoloured floral motifs and burgundy & gold scrollwork, and the rims are edged in gilt.
Included here is the following:
A Small Platter measuring 12 inches by 9.5 inches.
A Medium Platter measuring 14 inches by 11 inches.
The small platter is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks, very little pattern loss or paint loss to the rim. There is a small amount of clean crazing on the platter, age related in nature, and to be expected of a piece this old. The platter has the “AP Arklow Ireland” backstamp and I am informed that this dates it to pre 1947.
The medium platter is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks, very little pattern loss or paint loss to the rim and no crazing which is unusual on a piece this old. This platter also has the “AP Arklow Ireland” backstamp and I am informed that this dates it to pre 1947.
The price is for the two platters as a set. I will sell individually but it will work out more expensive.
Two great early pieces of Arklow Pottery perfect for the collector of this pattern or any Arklowware. Would make a lovely display on a kitchen dresser but are also perfect for use. I’m only getting rid of them because my Arklow Pottery collection has grown too large and too diverse and I no longer have room to display these, and it is a shame to have them boxed away!
I have other Arklow Pottery listed, so keep an eye on my other ads!
