Beautiful Coffee Pot and Matching Hot-Water Pot by Grindley Petalware Utilityware in the "Almond Petal" Colourway Beautiful Coffee Pot and Matching Hot-Water Pot by Grindley Petalware Utilityware in the "Almond Petal" Colourway Ceramics

A possible impending house move has forced me into evaluating all the contents of my attic and some items will have to go, in my effort to downsize. I'm making progress but more items need to go!

This is a Beautiful Coffee Pot and Matching Hot-Water Pot by Grindley Petalware Utilityware in the "Almond Petal" Colourway, which is a pale green. The colour is washed out in the photographs and is a much more attractive colour in reality! I'd call it a pale pistachio colour.

They would look amazing on display in a country kitchen dresser but is also perfect for everyday use. These have been lightly used, but this type of utilityware is so durable, that they look practically brand new, although they date from circa 1954+

This type of utilityware was produced by Grindley from the late 1930's onwards for decades. Due to the wartime restrictions on colour pigments and patterns, Grindley relied on clean shapes and scalloped edges, to create an appealing economic utilityware that could be mass produced. It was produced in five colourways as follows:
Laburnum Petalware: Golden Yellow
Peach Petalware: Rich Pale Pink
Lupin Petalware: Rich Pale Blue
Cream Petalware: Cream
And the colourway featured here:
Almond Petalware: Pale Green

It was especially popular in the 1940's and into the 1950's, (when these examples were produced), when more pattern started again to be reintroduced following the ending of wartime restrictions.

Included in this ad are a matching coffee pot and hot-water pot. Both stand about 7 inches/ 18cm tall, and both are in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks, just a small amount of clean age-related crazing, which would be expected on pieces of this age. Both are backstamped with the Grindley Petalware Stamp that was introduced in circa 1954.

Perfect for everyday use and display, they would also look great among a collection of other Petalware, Woodsware and Carrigaline Utilityware.

Priced as a pair, I can split, but they would be more expensive that way.

I have other Woodsware and Carrigaline Utilityware already listed as I am downsizing my collections due to space restrictions and a possible house move!!
