Balmoral china 21 piece PART tea set

Balmoral china 21 piece PART tea set Balmoral china 21 piece PART tea set Ceramics

This is a beautiful part tea set. The pretty flowers are hand painted over a transfer print. The border is done in the same manner. The backstamp was used between circa 1902-1933 The set was probably manufactured around 1930 so the set is over 90 years old. The set is in very good condition considering it's age.
It really needs to be viewed. There are slight age related issues but the set is in overall very good condition.
One cup has yellowed and crazing at the bottom of the cup internally but there is minimal clear crazing on the outside of the cup and slight yellowing on the outside of the cup only on the 3mm high foot, another cup has yellowing on the base of the inside cup but no crazing there is also a little yellowing on the 3mm high foot. The sugar bowl has 2 slight hairline cracks one can be seen slightly on the outside of the bowl. One saucer is missing its gold circle. some of the later sets had no gold circles on the plate so this might be a replacement of the time. The gold trim on the edge of the plates is very good but the central circles on plates and saucers has seen some ware. There are only five saucers but the set has two cake plates.

Redfern & Drakeford were china manufacturers operating at the Chatfield Works (c.1892-1902) and Balmoral Works (c.1902-33), in the town of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.
The business was formed in 1892 by Alfred Redfern and William Matthew Drakeford - later they were joined in partnership by John George Gell Norbury. In 1908 Alfred Redfern left the partnership and the business was carried on by Drakeford and Norbury - but the company retained the name REDFERN & DRAKEFORD.
In 1911 William Matthew Drakeford died, the business was carried on as REDFERN & DRAKEFORD and appears to have been run by Annie Drakeford (William's wife?) and John George Gell Norbury.
The business ceased manufacture in 1933 and the company was dissolved in Oct 1935.
