For sale is a scarce and vintage mug made by Dunoon Ceramics of Scotland for the ASSOCIATION OF BRITISH PAEDIATRIC NURSES (ABPN). This mug is finely made with a mottled stoneware-effect and has a second more shiny glazed coating on the inside and around the lip.

The Midwifes Act 1902 established legislation for midwifes to undergo formal training and to register with The Central Midwifes Board of British Nurses after successfully completing their training. The ABPN itself was established in 1937 as the Association of Sick Children's Hospital Nurses and in 1953 changed their name to the Association of British Paediatric Nurses so as to include paediatric nurses working outside the confines of hospitals. The ABPN's original motto was "VALENT UBIQUE LIBERI" which meant "Let children everywhere be made well".

Dunoon Ceramics were established at Dunoon in Scotland in 1974 and during 1982 moved production to a new factory in Staffordshire, England. The company is still trading as Dunoon Fine Bone China and who produces mainly high quality mugs made of slip-ware bone china.
