Description:
A fine hand-painted Chinese porcelain plate, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a continuous shanshui (mountain-and-water) landscape scene. The composition features tall jagged peaks, mist-wreathed pavilions, a curved arched bridge with figures, double-sailed river junks, and pine trees in the foreground — a classic motif from the Jingdezhen kilns.
Period: Late Qing Dynasty to Early Republic Period, c. 1890–1920
Origin: Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, China
Diameter: 22 cm (8.66 inches)
Decoration: Underglaze blue, finely detailed foliage rendered in stipple and hatching, with precise linear shading on mountains and architecture.
Base: Unglazed foot rim with characteristic warm iron-brown firing ring; bluish glaze pooling within the recessed base; scattered kiln grit and iron specks.
Condition: Very good antique condition with no cracks or restoration. Minor firing flaws and tiny glaze imperfections typical of period manufacture.
