Anchor-Hocking Fire-King Peach Lustre Tea Set
Fire-King was introduced in 1942 by the Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation in Lancaster, Ohio, as an affordable, heat-resistant alternative to Pyrex.
Sold widely in five-and-dime stores, hardware stores, and grocery outlets. Fire-King pieces were also famously given away as promotional items packed inside bags of flour, oatmeal, or gas station fill-ups.
In 1948, Anchor Hocking expanded Fire-King into commercial production for restaurants, schools, and the U.S. military, making durable, stackable, and plain-styled plates, mugs, and bowls. Lines expanded to include solid colours, geometric designs, and transfer-printed floral patterns. Mass production of the original vintage Fire-King line ceased in 1976.
This is a 20 piece tea set in good vintage condition including the lustre coating which can only maintained by hand washing in mild soap. The set has been used and there is ware on the handles which I have tried to show on photos
