Anchor Hocking Fire-king peach lustre bowls Anchor Hocking Fire-king peach lustre bowls Ceramics

Fire-King was introduced in 1942 by the Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation in Lancaster, Ohio, as an affordable, heat-resistant alternative to Pyrex.
Sold widely in five-and-dime stores, hardware stores, and grocery outlets. Fire-King pieces were also famously given away as promotional premiums packed inside bags of flour, oatmeal, or gas station fill-ups.
In 1948, Anchor Hocking expanded Fire-King into commercial production for restaurants, schools, and the U.S. military, making durable, stackable, and plain-styled plates, mugs, and bowls.
Lines expanded to include solid colours, geometric designs, and transfer-printed floral patterns.
Mass production of the original vintage Fire-King line ceased in 1976.
This is a 20 piece tea set in good vintage condition including the lustre coating which can only maintained by hand washing in mild soap.
There is signs of wear on the inside bottom of one bowl and a slight scratch about an inch long on the outside ot the other one.
13cm diameter and 7cm high
The price is for both bowls
