George Clews formed his Staffordshire pottery in 1906 and it traded until 1961..He came up with a firing technique that resulted in a luminous cobalt blue..with subtle black and violet varigation..the resulting goods he called chameleon ware.He won a gold medal for his wares at the 1926 Philadelphia exhibition..These are two 8 inch double handled urns are in perfect condition and are both stamped on the base. They carry sterling silver rims for S.J. Levi & Co of Birmingham for 1924..He was a top class silversmith in his own right..These vases/urns never come up as a matching pair..and my asking price reflects the normal price for one..I will include registered post and very safe packing in the asking price. Thanks for looking please check out my other ads.
