Free to collect is this 1988 Dublin Millennium commemorative mug depicting Leinster House and with the wording LEINSTER HOUSE - SEAT OF THE IRISH GOVERNMENT.
1988 was the year proclaimed by the City of Dublin Council to commemorate the 1,000th year since the Vikings founded Dublin. But in reality, Norse Vikings had settled earlier that that to establish the settlement of Dublin. The 1988 Dublin Millennium logo featured on this mug was designed by Irish artist Thomas Ryan RHA (1929-2021). The same logo printed in process colours cyan (blue), magenta (red), yellow and black also features on the extensive range of merchandise produced for the occasion.
This mug is being given free as the printed images are severly sunlight faded and with much of the red gone (see 'condition' below).

DESCRIPTION:
Size: about 3 1/8" x 3 1/4" O.D. excluding the handle (80mm x 82mm).
Finish: screen printed in 5 colours over the glaze.

CONDITION:
Sunlight faded with loss of most of the red (magenta) colour rfesulted in faded images. There is an edge chip on the lip rim. hence free to collect.
