Vintage Japanese Majolica Conch Shell Teapot – 1950s/60s
Unusual vintage ceramic teapot in the form of a large conch/seashell.
Beautiful mottled green, cream and brown glaze with textured shell detailing, matching shell-shaped lid and original wrapped handle.
Vintage Japanese style, dating approximately from the 1950s–1970s. These small shell teapots were designed as one-person tea pots and are now very collectible.
Approx. 15 cm long and approximately 10–11 cm high excluding handle.
Lovely vintage condition with age-related crazing to the glaze, adding to its character. Please see photos for full condition.
A very unusual retro decorative or usable teapot and a great piece for a vintage pottery, majolica or seaside collection.
