18 inch Famille Rose ginger jar

Here is beautiful and authentic late Qing Dynasty (1636-1911) famille rose large ginger jar.The jar is 18 inches tall,10 inches across the shoulders,8 at the base and weighs just short of 10 pounds.This is a great example of famille rose..which should be soft tone colours painted on a white base.There are many fakes of these out there..there is plenty of evidence to show that this is not one of these.There are three staple tops on view in the inner base..from a repair from 150 to 200 years ago.The jar itself has is showing a slight colour difference on one side..from sitting in the same sunny spot for generations.There is a micro hairline crack in the collar.The jar depicts peony roses,with pink flowers,over a blue wash.The lid is in perfect condition..This jar is certainly from the mid 1800's..or earlier..A wonderful survivor and in great condition for it's age.This is a fraction of the retail price on this jar..Safe packing and registered post available.Thanks for looking, please check out my other ads.
