10" W.Ridgway Georgian Saltware Pitcher

10" W.Ridgway Georgian Saltware Pitcher 10" W.Ridgway Georgian Saltware Pitcher Ceramics

Here is a beautiful Georgian (1714-1837) saltware and pewter pitcher from W.Ridgway..This piece was released on October 1st 1835..For those doing price comparisons, please note that this is their large pitcher and measures 10" tall at it's highest point. The pitcher has a pewter rim and a lid in the same material, which was hand hammed to meet it's curvaceous shape. The scenes on the sides are from the poem called "Tam O Shanter",written by the famous poet William Burns. It features a drinking scene in a tavern on one side..and on the other,is Tam on his horse being chased by two witches..one of which is has a hold of the horse's tail..As these pitchers go,this is in top class condition..with no condition issues..a couple of paint splatters, which I will carefully remove..Price wise,I know that I am offering excellent value for this size,in this condition.. probably half of the RRP in a reputable establishment..I will include very careful packing and registered post in the asking price..This is a great investment piece,in collector's condition..Thanks for looking please check out my other ads.
