The Swatch IRONY Big Space Rider YGS7000-A is an ultralight-weight performance timepiece designed for unisex adults by the lifestyle club team at Swatch AG.
Crafted from Aluminum, the Big Space Rider is an extremely lightweight watch coming in at just 25 grams. This wristwatch is so light you won’t even know it’s there… unless you glance at your wrist. Structural rigidity is enforced by the use of Frosted Aluminum (which is much stronger than steel) and comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. It also keeps the skin cool and dry, since Aluminum can wick away skin moisture and residue, making this a perfect watch for use in hot and temperate climates.
Time is imparted simultaneously in 12 hour format (imprinted on the watch face) and 24 hour format (imprinted on the watch bezel). High-visibility lume coating is employed on the hands and markers to provide a stark contrast with the black watch face. A domed crystal and Quartz Stone set on the crown completes the look. Maintenance is effortless thanks to a slotted battery compartment that not only protects the movement and watch internals, but also enables the user to conveniently swap the battery with ease.
Powered by Swatch’s time-tested and renowned IRONY V8 Calibre Quartz Movement, the Big Space Rider features independent calibrated rotors for precisely tracking time and day/date functionality. The IRONY V8 calibre features 9 Jewels and is encased in a waterproof case depth resistant to over 3 bars.
Swatch pairs the Big Space Rider YGS7000-A with an equally innovative dual-tone Aluminum Bracelet Strap. With a reflective silver oxide inner coating to wick away moisture, the strap ensures a perfectly snug fit, without tugging on hairs to ensure long lasting comfort for the wearer.
