2020 Ford EcoSport
The good:
- One careful (elderly - my mother) owner since new, 114k genuine kilometres.
- Well looked-after, serviced annually at the main dealer (except for the past year as mostly off the road now).
- Titanium edition, so has a lot of extras/bells and whistles (stop/start, touchscreen with android auto/carplay, tyre pressure sensors, part (imitation) leather front seats etc.).
- Done relatively few, mostly maintenance, miles in the past two years (mother not driving any more), with an oil/filter change 7,000 kms ago, so it's not due its regular service for another 12k or so.
- Fresh NCT (04 Sept 26) valid until September 2028
- No dents, dings or other body damage other than a few tiny chips and paint marks.
- Two electronic fobs, although the key on one is broken, so it has a new key with this (see photo)
- Comes with full size spare alloy wheel, same as the regular wheels (mother was having none of the repair goo stuff that comes as standard, so ordered an extra wheel specially).
- Brand new battery, installed last week - I upgraded the underpowered stock one to a proper-sized one so starting first tip.
The bad:
- The owner had dogs, so while it's been well cleaned internally, there's still some residue of dog hair - those with allergies be aware.
- There's an occasional creak from the driver's side front spring - it lost a tip a year ago so rubs against its mounting. This has no effect on appearance or handling and the NCT report (see photos) for the front suspension indicates that any imbalance is well within spec.
- The NCT report noted the tyre age (6yrs), but they were put on 3/4 years ago and have a lot of tread (michelins - good quality), so advisory only.
- The drivers seat has some wear in one place – not cut, just the surface coating came away (see photo).
