The Global Challenge
The World's toughest yacht race from Southampton at noon on the 29th Septmeber 1996. The 67 foot challenge class yachts race to Rio de Janeiro to Wellington, Sydney, Cape Town and Boston, before returning to Southampton in June/ July 1997. Our Manx resident Bransom Bean will be aboard one of the 14 yachts for all 6 legs of the race and will be in contact with the island's schools through the race.
